Her mother and a paternal aunt named Gloria and Gertrude made her a subject in a child custody trial in the 1930s. It was about the search for her custody as well as controlling her $5 million worth trust fund. As she grew old, she rose to fame because of a line of fashions, household goods as well as perfumes bearing her name.
