American wrestler who became the WWE World Champion in 2016. He was also a three-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion during his time in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling from 2002 to 2013. He later signed to WWE’s SmackDown brand.

He earned a partial college wrestling scholarship, before eventually enrolling in professional wrestling school.

He became the first TNA-signed wrestler to be named the #1 wrestler on Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s PWI 500 list in 2010.

A.J. Styles’s first appearance was with Professional wrestling promotion NCW in 1998. Three years later, in 2001, he competed at the All-Pro Wrestling tournament, where he reached up to the quarter-final and was defeated by Christopher Daniels. 1 month later, A.J.
